Walk through your question
What do you do with an issue that keeps lingering endlessly?
Some questions keep presenting themselves, even when decisions have already been made and conversations have been had. They return in a different form, at a different moment — often precisely when pressure increases or when practice calls your chosen direction into question again.
Perhaps it concerns a sensitivity that keeps crossing your path, even though you know there is no truth in it. A choice to be made whose consequences reach far into the future of your life or organisation. A collaboration in which trust is under strain. A decision that needs to be made, but whose foundation doesn’t yet feel solid enough. Or a responsibility you carry, while interests diverge and the outcome is far from clear.
These are all challenges that cannot be rushed — but that do call for better questions.
I walk with you through your question. In one or more sessions, we explore together what is presenting itself in your work or leadership. We slow down where needed, bring underlying patterns and assumptions into view, and explore what movement becomes possible when you examine your own assumptions and beliefs.
What we do along the way
We meet while walking, in a suitable space or online — depending on what the moment and your situation call for. During the first meeting, we carefully map out what the question behind your question is. Along the way, I listen to the considerations, values and limiting beliefs that come along with it.
From there, we work step by step on what presents itself in your practice. The way in which we explore your question varies. We draw on the information that the way you move while walking offers. Sometimes we let the surroundings do their work, to help you observe more fully. But whatever we do, this is what always emerges:
- seeing the core of your question more clearly
- recognising recurring patterns
- learning to apply the principles of investigative leadership to your question and future questions
- learning to make decisions after having explored your values
As we go, your question begins to move — and you gain tools to approach future questions in an investigative and constructive way.
What others say
When do you come to me?
This individual form of guidance is intended for people who carry a significant degree of responsibility in the organisations where they work. Executives, directors, entrepreneurs and professionals who hold a directing role for themselves and others in their daily work.
People often come to me when they notice that a challenge keeps presenting itself and that it is time to give it their full attention. You feel the pressure to move forward, while somewhere there is an awareness that something still wants to be seen or explored. Interests diverge, expectations are high and the consequences of a decision are felt by both people and organisation. It is precisely then that the need often arises to pause, weigh things carefully and listen again to what gives direction.
It may also be that you want to learn how to apply the principles of investigative leadership — such as asking forward or listening someone into being — in your own practice. To create movement in your own questions or those of your team through that investigative attitude.
Practical
Where: walking sessions take place in a forest or park in the Amsterdam area. Conversations can also take place on location in Amsterdam or online when that fits your situation better.
Duration: four sessions over six months. In between, I am available for brief consultation when something arises that touches on your question. Experience shows that four meetings, complemented by contact between sessions when needed, lead to new perspective, broken habits and a stronger foundation for future challenges.
Investment: €1,500 for four guidance sessions of 1.5 hours. If during the first meeting it becomes clear that a different form of guidance suits you better, we look together for a fitting alternative.
Ready to explore what your question is asking of you?
In a short exploratory conversation, we explore whether we have a good connection and whether this approach and form of guidance fits your question and the phase you are in.
About Suzanne
I am a cultural scientist, executive and guide for leaders and organisations working in complex circumstances. In my practice, I learned that movement rarely comes from giving more answers. It usually begins the moment someone dares to ask a different question and is willing to look with attention at what is truly at play.
Investigative living and leadership is my specialism. In my personal guidance, I invite people to look with curiosity at their own theme and practice — beyond quick judgements and fixed convictions. Not to tell them what to do, but to create space for their own wisdom and movement.
